Project Overview:
The Sheikh Khalifa Bin Salman Highway Interchange 2 and Link between RA 18.1 to 13 project epitomizes strategic infrastructure development, commissioned by the esteemed Ministry of Works and executed under the expert guidance of Parson Global Services Ltd. The collaborative efforts of Al Yamana – Nass Contracting J.V. have brought to fruition a transformative project aimed at enhancing connectivity and facilitating smoother traffic flow within Bahrain’s bustling SKBSH vicinity.
Key Features:
- Flyover Structure: The Grade Separated Interchange 2 features the construction of a single bridge structure, facilitating dual carriageways for seamless traffic flow in both north and south directions.
- North Bound Traffic Carriageway: Dedicated to eastbound traffic from Sk. Hamad Avenue leading to R.A 18 in Hamad Town, providing connectivity to SKBSH in the northward direction.
- South Bound Carriageway: Configured with a trumpet design, offering access to Hamad Town for northbound road users via SKBSH and Sk. Hamad Avenue towards the westward direction.
- Bridge Specifications: The main bridge boasts a width of 24.2 meters, with each carriageway featuring two traffic lanes of 3.75 meters width each, accompanied by left-side shoulders measuring 1.10 meters and right-side shoulders measuring 2.4 meters.
- Ramps: Constructed with Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) wall technology, ensuring structural stability and longevity.
- Link Between RA 18.1 to 13: This component involves the enhancement of approximately 1500 meters of two-lane carriageway, encompassing earthworks, drainage systems, footpaths, asphalt paving, pavement markings, and street lighting infrastructure.
