Project Overview:
The South Bahrain Loop Roads (SBLR) Stage 2 (Package A) project, commissioned by the esteemed Ministry of Works, represents a pivotal advancement in Bahrain’s infrastructure landscape. Situated in Al Jazair, this project serves as a critical link between the Gulf of Bahrain Road and the Al Sahel Development, spanning approximately 10.0 kilometers of meticulously planned dual two-lane carriageways. Integral to this development are essential stormwater drainage systems and utility works, emphasizing a holistic approach to urban connectivity and resilience.
Scope of Work:
The scope of work for Package A encompasses a comprehensive array of tasks, meticulously designed and executed to meet the highest standards of quality and functionality. Key components of the scope include:
- Construction of 4700 meters of road works, comprising a dual two-lane carriageway designed to optimize traffic flow and safety.
- Implementation of road marking and signage systems to ensure clear navigation and enhanced road user experience.
- Execution of extensive drainage works, including the installation of a stormwater line spanning 3,760 meters, ensuring efficient water management and flood prevention.
- Establishment of a Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) line extending over 5,000 meters, promoting sustainable water resource utilization.
- Installation of street lighting infrastructure and miscellaneous works to enhance visibility and safety along the route.
- Construction of an 8-meter-deep pumping station, complete with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, to facilitate effective water management.
- Construction of three culverts and one outfall, ensuring seamless integration with existing drainage networks and natural watercourses.
- Implementation of safety barriers, including concrete barriers and Traffic Crash Barriers (TCB), to enhance road safety and mitigate risks.
