Project Overview:
This distinguished project entailed the meticulous execution of civil works as the Subcontractor Package to Prysmian Group for the 400kV circuit spanning from the new Riffa Substation to the new Um Al Hassam Substation, and further extending from Um Al Hassam to Hidd (Feeder 1). The project is categorized into Stage 1, covering the Riffa to Um Al Hassam segment, and Stage 2, encompassing the extension to Hidd.
Scope of Work:
The scope of work encompassed a comprehensive array of tasks aimed at ensuring the seamless installation and operation of the 400kV single circuit. Key elements of the scope included:
- Conducting detailed surveys and soil investigations to inform construction planning.
- Clearance of routes to facilitate unimpeded progress.
- Provision of temporary works, site offices, and lay-down areas to support project logistics.
- Execution of excavations and construction of conventional road crossings and ducts.
- Implementation of innovative solutions for non-disruptive road and sea crossings.
- Precision execution of concrete works to exacting standards.
- Cable installation in precast concrete troughs, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
- Backfilling operations utilizing both thermal and standard materials, followed by meticulous reinstatement.
- All activities were meticulously coordinated and executed to meet stringent project specifications and regulatory requirements.
